Book Blogger Hop/Follow My Book Blog Friday

At Crazy For Books, they are hosting the Book Blogger Hop!

Book Blogger Hop

This week's questions is:

What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?

I don't know if I can really say what book influenced or changed me. I would have to say that the Twilight series both helped me to get back into reading. I used to love reading but for the longest time, I just stopped. I didn't want to read because I had better things to do or whatever. I refused to read Twilight, even though I owned the first book forever, because I just didn't want to. It was so...main stream. I was so anti-twilight that I even put off watching the movie until New Moon was out! So I finally watched the movie and decided to read the book. I was hooked. It' was complete madness. I remember finishing it and just going "Oh man! I have to get New Moon now!!!" Twilight helped me get back into reading and I'm glad it did. I forgot how much I enjoy reading and how many good books there are out there!!
I think that everyone reads a book at some point and in some small (and maybe insignificant) way, that book changes them and they don't even realize it! That book makes them do something differently or act differently or it can just touch you in a way you never imagined!

Over at Parajunkee's View they are hosting the weekly 'Follow My Book Blog Friday.'

This week's question is:
What book(s) have you discovered lately from someone's book blog?

Some of my best book find were the 'Fallen' series. I had never heard of them before but I read 'Fallen' and I loved it! So now I'm waiting to read 'Tormented.' I also recently got into the 'Vampire Academy' series. I think it's an amazing series! I probably never would have heard of half the books and series that I've read lately, and fell in love with, had it not been for the amazing book blogging community! : )

  1. OMG! Let's be cyber besties, OK?? Twilight re-ignited my passion for all things literary too! And boy has it been a crazy ride since then! Whoa doggie, PLUS Fallen and Torment *sigh*. I just read those over Christmas break and I LOEVD them! Excellent! Stop and see me!! http://blog.juliealindsey.com/

  3. Although i'm not the hugest fan of twilight due to some of the characters (ie: Bella) and the fact that Meyers got Vampire and Fearie mythology mixed up...i have to admit that i'm happy about some of the results. Like that so many people are more interested in YA because of it and that weres and vamps have made such a great comback :) I liked your answer!

Thanks for stopping by Black Fingernailed Reviews. I'm following you now, and i'm looking forward to reading more in the future from your blod :DD

  5. Oh BTW: About Labytinth, it's really hard to get a copy nowadays. Its been out of print for almost 20 years now so the copies that are being sold go for about $120. I've been hoping for the longest time that some publisher would reissue it, because it's such a great book.

  7. Hey Faye! It was a tough blog hop question this week. If I hadn't recently read IF I STAY I don't know what my answer would have been. Twilight re-ignited my passion for reading too. I stopped reading when I hit high school but then when Twilight came out I grabbed a copy and fell in love! I strongly recommend IF I STAY! Have a great weekend.

  8. Thx for hopping by! I think we can all thank Twilight for getting people interested in reading again. If HP didn't do it...Twilight did!

  10. I'm glad that Twilight got people back into reading although I kind of wished it was HP that did that heh. Granted, HP is a hard act to follow... Twilight on the other hand is much more accessible for writing similar books.

  11. Found you through the Hop!!! I noticed alot of people are saying the Twilight series helped them get back into or just into reading. Despite all its hype, when a book is capable of doing that it is a great thing!

    New Follower! Happy Hopping Weekend!!!

  12. People can say what they will about TWILIGHT, but any book that gets people into reading is okay in my book.

Totally agree with you. I was very Anti-Twilight until I watched it on DVD, then I read the book. I was hooked. I read all of the books, then I started reading more and more in general :)

  18. This will probably come of something as a surprise but the book that changed/influenced my life (more than any other) is a non-fiction book. I know we all focus on novels and the fanciful fiction we love to read but The Four Work Week is the book that gets all the credit. I know the title sounds fictional but it really isn’t. Hop over to my blog and find out why – http://www.howardsherman.net

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Day!

  21. I really liked Fallen, too! Also, Vampire Academy. Much like your Twilight story, I held off reading VA for the longest time b/c I didn't want to get into a vampire novel. Actually, they're pretty good!

    Have a good week!

  25. Thank goodness for Twilight, if for no other reason than it incited or reignited a love of reading in so many. Like HP before it...the most fantastic thing about those books is their multiplier effect.

    Great choice!

I can relate to your Twilight experience. Initially I was reluctant to read it, but after a few chapters I was totally hooked :)
