Book Blogger Hop

Friday's Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy For Books!

Book Blogger Hop

This weeks question is:

“How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

I currently have like 14 books in my To Be Read pile. It's not a lot compared to most people but...if you think about it, it's still kind of a lot haha.
Ok, I'm adding an edit to my original post. I would absolutely have more books in my TBR pile BUT I came up with this system, for now, where I can't have more than 14 books in my pile. Sometimes I do but only by a few. If I didn't do that, I'd be broke from buying books! lol. I do have a lot of already read books though! :)

Don't forget to leave your links so I can hop on over to your blog! : )

  1. I'm jealous! Mine is huge. I put a picture of my physical TBR on my post: http://www.abouttoread.com/2011/06/book-blogger-hop_17.html

Are you a really fast reader?

  2. I wish I had your system, but I'm wait too far gone at this point. Yep, my 10,000+ are all unread. I keep track of the amount on an Excel spreadsheet, but even that has become unmanageable at this point.

    Happy Friday!

  3. I also have a system to keep my TBR down!
    Happy blogging.

  4. Thanks for stopping by this morning. Oh, I have a serious problem. LOL. Especially when it comes to Free Friday Nook ebooks. So many books, so little time! Have a great weekend.

  5. Only 14! Great that you have such discipline...and very cost effective too.

  6. That totally makes sense if you're talking physical books for sure!

Do you have a way of keeping track of what you'd like to buy next, like on Goodreads or something? I think I'd go mad without Goodreads. lol

Thanks for stopping by friday blogs hops as well!

  7. Oh if only I had 14 in my pile!!! I had to rename my list to my "tbr bucket list". Thanks for hopping by.

  8. Thanks for hopping by! Having only 14 at a time is probably a good system, haha.

  9. I really need to come up with a system! My book pile has gotten out of hand lately. ;) Happy Hopping!

  10. Thanks for hopping by.

I've read fourteen books at a time. It's not quite the same, though, and takes a long time to get through. I can never read fast enough to get through my TBR pile, though I have scaled down the actual buying of books to three or four a year.

  11. I need to adopt that system! I am always overwhelmed by my TBR pile.

  12. I love your system! But it would be like the next fad diet for me, I could never stick with it.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  13. Hello! Just hopping thru! Keeping your TBR pile to a set number sounds like a great idea! I don't know if I have the self control to do that. HAPPY READING.

  14. Although I have a lot of books on my list it's partly because I have a terrible memory and don't want to forget about something after I've gotten excited about seeing it mentioned somewhere else. For my actual TBR I keep a mental list off of what I've put on my IMMs.

  15. That is a super smart system to have! I wish I had the willpower to do it. I am terrible about things like that though!

  16. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm seriously jealous about your system. My problem is the nook makes buying so easy, especially with all of the free books...then there's all of my review books I get...Plus I always want to buy the new shiny books too. ;)

  17. Your TBR pile is even smaller than mine - so amazing! While I have to admit that I get a little bit jealous when I think of all the huge amounts of books other people have, I think the dimension of our piles are definitely better. At least it won't make me feel too bad when I now buy new books. :D

Thanks for stopping by at my blog! Really like your blog, so I'm a new follower now. :)

  18. THanks for visiting. I am a new follower - we seem to read many of the same books. I hope you will follow back. I would take a picture of my piles of books, then my Net Galley Queue - but let's just say I read a book every 1.5 days and I have enough to get through the summer.

  19. I'm trying to trim down my TBR for reviews pile...I'm finally down to somewhere under 15 and would like to stay around there so I don't have a heart attack!

  20. That is actually a really good system, and very restrained of you! I actually bought 6 books just today, so I am just a bad example to the world! Hehe

  21. Hi there! Hopping back. Parajunkee designed my blog (For What It's Worth)
Wow 14 books. I can't even imagine what that would be like....lol I hope someday to be down to 14 books.
Having a system is a really good idea so you don't get overwhelmed (like me)

  23. I like that idea. I need to think of a system too. It make me nervous as much as excited to look at my pile sometimes.

    Happy Friday :-D

  24. As a librarian, I've been getting ARCs for YEARS, and especially at first, I was so greedy as to take all the ARCs I could get! Which was a lot! I ended up with so many thousands of books, I put some of them in storage. And then my storage shed flooded! I lost almost all my books! And even then, I still had too many! Since then, I made a rule, everything I keep MUST fit on ONE bookcase! Although... my bookcase is getting so full. I've got to decide if I'm going to thin out my books again, or give up and buy a second bookcase.

That is one thing that I do love about e-books. They take up so much less space!

  25. I'm totally broke from buying books. My pile is huge! I think I need to go on a book-buying diet.

  26. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Feel a little normal now since you have a 2 digit number! Seeing quite a few 3 digits! Some people can't even put a number to their TBR pile because it's so big!

I do plan on heading to the bookstore this weekend though!

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  27. 14 is completely manageable. :) I tend to focus on what's in my current book bag (which allows me to feel like I'm in control of my tbr's)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish I had some kind of system. Now I go for "what do I feel like reading next?" to select the books. Not very effective though =P

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  29. It's nice that you control yourself. I don't have that many physical books to read, either. Just a huge list on Goodreads. :)

  30. Hi there:

New follower here. Thanks for visiting my book blog at KK's Booksurfing Paradise.

  31. Even though my actual TBR pile has 907 books in it, my current list of ones that I actually plan to read sooner rather than later is only 19. That's a little more doable. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha 14 books is okay! I'm always complaining about my TBR pile, but honestly I think most of us like the idea that we have many more books waiting in our future :D

    Btw...Your blog is so cute!(:

  34. Hi, just returning your visit. I could cap my TBR list but there are just too many things I want to read out there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanx for stopping by Paranormal Wastelands!! And WOW only 14? Thats great...you have way more self control then I have;) lolz

And yes yes I really do have 48 physical books on my nightstand. Each and every one of them screaming at my to crack em open. Couple that with the 303 on my virtual TBR and it gets quiet hard to hear myself think over all the screaming begging books!

  36. I have to write down a list of 20 books I need to read before I am allowed to buy another book. I can read other books. But the ones on my list need to be read before I can make a purchase. It's actually kind of fun trying to accomplish.

    Thanks so stopping by.

  37. 14 books is manageable...my number is too.

    NEW FOLLOWER.

I only have 29 books waiting to be read...physical books that is. I hope I answered the question correctly.

Just stopping by to say hello and to take a look around.

I am having a Father's Day giveaway on my blog if you would like to stop by....it ends at midnight tonight.
